People participate in the Ramlila, where the story of Lord Rama’s victory over Ravana is enacted, and burn effigies of Ravana, Meghnad, and Kumbhakarna.
Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated to honor the birth of Lord Ganesha, the God of wisdom and prosperity. People bring home clay idols of Lord Ganesha and offer him prayers and sweets for ten days. On the eleventh day, the idols are taken out in a grand procession and immersed in a water body.
